Volunteer website set up for residents to help fight COVID-19

LANSING, MI--   The State of Michigan has set up a website for residents to volunteer their talents during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Governor Whitmer and the Department of Health and Human Services have launched michigan.gov/fightcovid19. Trained medical professionals can register to assist hospitals, and residents can find out how to help in their communities, give blood, donate money or medical supplies, or help public health officials track infections.

The website will serve as a single clearinghouse for Michiganders to join the fight against COVID-19. The state will work with hospitals and health systems that are short-staffed to fill gaps if and when necessary.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
