Time to "Stuff a Blue Goose" for those in need

ESCANABA AND IRON MOUNTAIN, MI--   Michigan State Police are urging residents to “Stuff a Blue Goose” this holiday season for neighbors in need.

The Gladstone Post is partnering with the Salvation Army, Elmer’s County Market and U-Haul Moving and Storage Center to help provide meals. On Friday, December 11 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Elmer’s will sell its traditional paper bags filled with nonperishable food. Residents can drop the bags off at the front of the store in the U-Haul trailer.

Any nonperishable item and money will be welcomed. Everything collected will be donated to the Salvation Army of Escanaba.

And troopers from the Iron Mountain Post are hoping to stuff a blue patrol car with donated toys on December 11. State Police are partnering with the Marine Corps Reserves to gather new and unwrapped toys for less fortunate kids.

Residents can stuff the vehicle at the Iron Mountain Walmart from 5 to 8 p.m. or drop toys off at the post any time beforehand.
