More than 175 new coronavirus cases reported in UP

MARQUETTE, MI--   The number of new COVID-19 cases just keeps climbing in the Upper Peninsula.

Wednesday a total of 179 coronavirus cases were lab-confirmed.

The number per county is as follows: 

  • Alger-5
  • Baraga-12
  • Chippewa-5
  • Delta-60
  • Dickinson-20
  • Gogebic-5
  • Houghton-6
  • Iron-3
  • Keweenaw-1
  • Luce-8
  • Mackinac-3
  • Marquette-30
  • Menominee-14
  • Ontonagon-2
  • Schoolcraft-5

One death was reported in Delta County.
As of Wednesday afternoon a total of 5,459 COVID cases have been confirmed in the Upper Peninsula. Officials say 107 people have died.

 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
