Ironwood police find stash of stolen items

IRONWOOD, MI--   The Ironwood Department of Public Safety is asking residents who are missing items from their cars or garages to step forward.

Officers have received several reports from citizens who said their property was stolen.

Michigan State Police received a tip and shared it with Public Safety officers. On Wednesday they, along with the Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department, Hurley Police Department and Iron County Sheriff’s Department, executed a search warrant at an Ironwood home. Property from several of the thefts was recovered.

The investigation is ongoing. Those who have had items stolen are encouraged to report it. Officers say they saw several items that were likely stolen but they weren’t able to recover them because they weren’t reported missing or stolen.
