Drug arrests made in Manistique

MANISTIQUE, MI--   Two Upper Peninsula residents were arrested by Manistique Public Safety officers in the past week as part of an investigation into area drug trafficking. 

On Friday Kale McKay, 33, of Garden was pulled over on US-2 near Tannery Road for swerving into oncoming traffic. Investigation revealed illegal narcotics in McKay’s vehicle.

He’s charged with possession of Suboxone, possession of Gabapentin and operating while intoxicated. McKay remains lodged in the Schoolcraft County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

And officers arrested Michael Olsen, 32, of Manistique Saturday following the seizure of narcotics in the city. He’s charged with delivery/manufacture of meth, possession of Suboxone and with being a habitual offender-4th offense. Olsen is lodged on a $25,000 bond.

The Sault Tribal Police Department assisted in the investigation.
