Contact tracing being performed in Delta and Menominee counties

ESCANABA, MI--   Public Health, Delta & Menominee Counties says some residents may get a call regarding contact tracing.

Officials say that means someone they know has tested positive for COVID-19 and has recently been within six feet of them for more than 10 minutes. The calls will come from MI COVID HELP, 866-860-3447, or Public Health, Delta & Menominee Counties, 906-786-4111. Those who receive a call will be given information about their risk of contracting COVID-19. They’ll be asked to monitor themselves for symptoms and seek treatment if they become sick.

Officials say the goal of the calls is to provide support and help to those who may have been exposed, and to prevent the spread of the disease. It is not to collect personal information like social security number, driver’s license number, or credit card numbers.
